Each July, the island where Ernest Hemingway lived throughout the 1930s welcomes approximately 125 stocky, white-bearded aspiring “Ernests” to compete in Sloppy Joe’s “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest in Key West.
Look-alike contestants come from around the world to vie for the title of “Papa,” and most dress in khaki safari garb or wool fishermen’s sweaters reminiscent of Ernest’s attire. Now YOU can be a part of the Virtual “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest!
The lucky winner of the Virtual “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest will receive a trip for two to Key West to attend the 2012 Hemingway Days festival, scheduled for July 17-22, 2012.
Winner is to compete in a preliminary round of the Sloppy Joe’s “Papa” Hemingway Look-Alike Contest. Winner and a guest also receive an opportunity to fish one day in the Drambuie Key West Marlin Tournament.
