BOSTON MARRIAGE is a Victorian scam full of absurdities that lead to an ending with a twist. The two leads, Anna and Claire are in a “Boston Marriage” a term that described New England women who lived together, sometimes lovers.
The older of the two women, Anna has become mistress to a wealthy man so that she can create a comfortable upper-class lifestyle for her lover, Claire. But Claire comes home with a plan to seduce a younger woman. Things go awry and the maid, Catherine comes up with a solution to save the day.
