The 2012 Key West Paddleboard Classic is shaping up to surpass last year’s attendance records, number of sponsors and overall weekend activities to keep you entertained in the Florida Keys.
The annual Key West Paddleboard Classic Race is planned and organized by Key West locals with a passion for the waterman’s lifestyle and desire to share the Key West island paradise with fellow paddlers around the country.
Going all the way around the island!
Starting at Smathers Beach, paddle west past White Street Pier and then Ft. Zachary Taylor State Park.
Round the corner and paddle past famous Mallory Square.
Race past the Conch Republic “Riviera” . . . home to Ocean Key House, Pier House and the Hyatt Resort.
Head toward Fleming Key Bridge and enter the Gulf of Mexico, then turn right toward Cow Key Channel—a critical juncture in the race due to tidal changes.
A quick spin past the mangroves and you are headed to the finish line back on Smathers Beach.
