Or maybe you might remember him from his gender bending role as Edna Turnblad in the Broadway rendition of the John Waters hit “Hairspray”. Bruce Vilanch’s resume began as a comedy writer for such stars Bette Midler, Dolly Parton and Pia Zadora and he uses these ladies as fodder for his stand-up routine as he weaves his personal experiences into comedic gold.
